Hermitages Hidden Among the Leaves
Places where the undergrowth becomes thick and cell phone signal begins to drop. They require careful driving on narrow roads, which is rewarded with refreshing isolation.
Reachability
This house is located on the edge of a chestnut grove, about 700 meters from the nearest neighbor. This means peace and quiet, but also... about 1.2 km of country road from the nearest village. The road is paved and wide enough for a small truck; however, some drivers are uncomfortable on this type of road, especially at night due to the lack of streetlights. In this case, the best option is to arrive before dark, at least for the first evening.
The potholes are provided by the municipality - we are trying to get them repaired.
Parking is on the isolated road (last house on the road), just outside the fence (which keeps deer out and dogs in if you have any). The rooms are on the first floor, accessed via external stairs (a few, not steep).
Although many guests use the place as a base for the sea due to the obviously much more affordable prices, the ideal use for this place is:
slow down.
Meditation, quiet work, walking; perhaps a trip to Genoa or Camogli or some beach—45-60 minutes away, depending on the destination.
(If you want to earn your way to the beach, I recommend a beautiful (at times challenging) walk 25 minutes from here that takes you to Camogli via Ruta.)
The spaces 
There is a large garden with spaces for reading, writing and relaxing, outdoor tables - a ping pong table
A small terrace overlooks the independent entrance on the first floor.
As for the interior spaces, there is an entrance hall with kitchenette, a bathroom and two bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with two singles (a third can be added).
Dishes and utensils, towels, sheets, and a hairdryer are included.
If I'm not downstairs where I live, I'm probably nearby, so you can text or call for any other needs or issues.
There is no air conditioning - so far the thick walls have made up for it quite well.
Breakfast 
Breakfast is continental (mainly sweet: croissants, yogurt, juice, bread, honey - produced 200 m from here, fresh fruit), served in the garden if the weather permits.
Connectivity
The area has 4G mobile coverage from TIM, Vodafone, Wind/Tre, and Iliad. The walls are thick, and indoor reception depends on the area and your devices.
One or two Wi-Fi networks (mobile-based, typically TIM or Vodafone networks) are available.

How to arrive
By car:
The last kilometer in particular is a very Ligurian road, paved but narrow, with the typical two-way system: if you encounter a car (unlikely in any case), look for the nearest open space to pass both of you, within ten meters at most.
(I explain this for the people rooted in the plains).
By bike:
Electric bikes ; otherwise, I can pick you up at the bottom of the hill (1.2 km), but I don't have room to carry bikes (which can be left with trusted neighbors).
If you come up on a classic bike, you will have my admiration and envy for your state of health.
Standing:

I can pick you up at the Portello Pass - or suggest possible detours to get directly here via secondary paths.
By bus:
From Genoa and Chiavari, a bus (ATM 715) leaves every hour on holidays and runs along the Fontanabuona valley, arriving in Gattorna in 1 hour. If you know in advance, I can pick you up and bring you back (I go there every two or three days to do the shopping anyway).
