Il collaboratorio

For many years now, I've shared various initiatives in my hermitage. One of them is closely tied to my profession—even though I'm now retired—the Collaboratory , which embodies much of the spirit of my home.

About once a month, anyone who wants can come over, with or without a carpentry project to complete. We casually plan how to make the object together, and then we get to work collaboratively under my guidance. In fact, this way, we also forge new friendships.

"Come il colibrì" ODV Association

My home is also the association's headquarters. In this case, the collaboration is geared towards understanding the gravity of environmental problems, primarily global warming, and figuring out how to do our part, just like the hummingbird in the African fable. We promote tree planting in schools, in cities where it's increasingly needed, and also in Africa. Finally, we help activate participatory processes at the local level to increasingly involve citizens in the management of the land they live in. We propose a sociocratic management model, guided by principles of equivalence, transparency, and efficiency.

Men's Circles

These are men's talk groups, increasingly popular in Italy. Together with Alberto from Yogacara, we run one in the valley. We meet every two weeks or so, both in person and online. Listening, self-awareness, and support among men are some of the key words of this experience.

The Zome-greenhouse

Finally, I'd like to point out the presence of a greenhouse near my house, which can be glimpsed in the video on the homepage. It was our experimental construction site, in anticipation of other residential projects currently being developed by the members of the Valle degli Eremi.
